I finally have some “new” photos! Ok, the first set aren’t new, they’re more old negatives and slides that I scanned over a 12-day vacation in September. Instead of boarding a plane in Alberta to come home after enjoying a visit to Banff National Park in Canada, I found myself at my computer after having spent the previous week scanning old slides and negatives that for some reason or another hadn’t before. I found that I had quite a few train photos from the 1990’s, so I cleaned up those up the best I could and put them up in my store.
I did get out to Santa Margarita Lake in early September to get some new photos of nesting Western and Clark’s Grebes. They were there surprisingly late in the year, perhaps it was the weather or maybe the lack of summer boaters and crowds due to the COVID-19 pandemic just made for a more peaceful place to nest, but four or five were still there. Next year I need to be sure and get there sooner, but even this late I was still treated to a bit of birdie hanky panky to photograph.
